Manila, Philippines, 12 November 2024 – We are excited to announce that Quisumbing Torres, in partnership with Waves for Water Philippines (W4W) and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 102nd Squadron, is now in the second year of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) project! This year, we provided essential water filtration systems, rainwater catchment tanks, and handwashing stations to over 300 households in the coastal community of Barangay La Paz, San Narciso, Zambales.
Building on the success of our first project, we are proud to have acted on our commitment to improving access to clean water for Filipino communities. Upon consultation with community leaders and assessment by W4W, the firm provided 73 clean water filtration systems, each capable of serving five families for a minimum of five years with proper maintenance. Additionally, we constructed two rainwater catchment tanks to augment freshwater storage capacity, and installed 16 portable low-flow handwashing stations to support long-lasting behavior change, primarily in school classrooms. The project's estimated impact is significant, benefiting 1,760 individuals or 353 households in Barangay La Paz. This figure excludes the additional potential impact on neighboring areas and schools that will also benefit from the implemented systems.
Since our partnership with Waves for Water began in 2023 done in celebration of our 60th anniversary, our CSR program has positively impacted over 5,000 Filipinos by improving access to clean water. This ongoing collaboration is part of our larger commitment to creating a meaningful and lasting impact on communities in need.
