Manila, Philippines, 12 December 2022 - Quisumbing Torres assisted and advised Shell, a multinational oil and gas company in its joint venture with Alternergy Holdings Corporation, a pioneer in the renewable energy in the Philippines, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Pillila AVPC Corporation (PACO) to develop offshore wind projects in the Philippines. The partners plan to build an offshore wind facility with a potential capacity of 5GW in Calavite Passage, and to develop 1GW of offshore wind capacity in the north-west corner of Mindoro.
Alternergy is a Philippine renewable energy firm with a solid portfolio of projects. Through this collaboration, Shell brings in its global track record with 50 years of deep water offshore and over 20 years of offshore wind development experience, including its supply chain access, and technical expertise in developing large-scale bottom-fixed and floating wind projects.
Led by Dennis Quintero, partner and head of the Energy, Mining & Infrastructure Industry Group, the team includes associates, Sabrina Salgado-Go, Gaston Franco Perez de Tagle, and Joemyl Baloro.
